This lovely little souvenir is from Monroe, WI – a quaint, small town in Green County full of beautiful scenery and smack in cheese country. At the turn of the century Monroe also had a very active hunt and perhaps this plate is a celebration of that heritage. Lovely glossy porcelain plate with tan-colored gradual rim and stamped gilded crown designs, lovely fox hunters and hounds in the center and gilded lettering toward the bottom. This plate dates from the 1950s, as states did not go to 2 letter abbreviations until 1963, and this plate still shows the older WIS designation. No other marks or stamps, excellent condition, measures 7 inches around.
