Set in a small town in Utah where Peter lives with his family, Peter is a curious and adventurous boy who loves exploring the natural beauty of Utah. One day, he discovers an abandoned Pinto horse and decides to take care of it. He names the horse Pinto and together they explore the mountains, canyons, and deserts of Utah. Along the way, Peter meets a variety of interesting characters, including cowboys, Native Americans, and other adventurous children.
