The story of young Debby and her father who have to sell their farm and feedstore due to hard times, and Debby even needs to say goodbye to her own horse, Twinkle. Her and her father find a place to live in a room over a barn and her father takes on work as a groom for a hunter/jumper stable. When Ben gets injured Debby takes over his role and helps out at the horse shows and other competitions until she has a run-in with the owners over cruelty to the horses and her father is fired. But all works out when Ben is offered a position at a better farm and best of all Debby gets to reunite with Twinkle. Hardcover with 249 pages, lovely pencil illustrations throughout the book by Eleanor Iselin Mason, very good condition with the following notes: This is a retired library book so there are stamps on the inside covers and cards/pockets for check out. Pages are in very good, clean condition, but there is no dust cover, c1941.
