Description

A moving story that will inspire young readers, written by Dorothy Lyons who was endeared by her readers for writing horse stories for older girls. The book tells the story of Blythe Hyland, who two years before would have been thrilled with the news that the family was moving back to an Arizona ranch, but now – stricken and crippled by polio – what could she possibly do on a ranch? Slowly conquering her fears she did ride again and it was in Blind Man’s Pocket that Blythe found Dark Sunshine, a magnificent wild mare that had been trapped by a landslide. From the moment she learned it was possible to rescue the buckskin, Blythe determined that, crutches or no, she would train and ride her. Hardcover with 244 pages, illustrated by Wesley Dennis and published by Harcourt, Brace & Co in New York. Very good condition with the following notes: This is a retired library book and has stamps on the inside cover and a check out card/pocket on the back inside cover; DISCARD is stamped on the edges of the pages (can be seen when closed); it is missing the original dust cover. Pages are in excellent condition.
